History
Dingač has a reputation of being a wine of excellence since the 15th century.
The Republic earned a considerable income from wine, so it completely took over the wine trade, controlling the export and import. The tradition of producing Dingač wine has deep roots that are evident in the Statute of the Island of Korčula 1214. where wine is considered "sacred".
1361.
The Senate often resolves the requests of the monasteries to import wines from Pelješac. So in 1361 they resolved to allow the Franciscans and the Dominicans to import wine from Pelješac.
